Dear wine enthusiasts,
What’s happening at Châteaux Chêne-Vieux and Musset?
From the moment the leaves have fallen, and before the arrival of spring, work in the vineyards focuses on pruning. The vine is a climbing plant and would grow indefinitely if it were not pruned.
Carried out during the vegetative rest period (winter), pruning allows winemakers to regulate the production of grapes in both quality and quantity. At Châteaux de Musset and Chêne-Vieux, we practice Guyot pruning (mixed) by hand using electric secateurs.
On the winery side, the 2018 vintage has been put into barrels. It will age there for the next 10 to 12 months to soften the tannins and develop the wine’s bouquet.
Feel free to stock up your cellar for carnival! 😉
