Château de Musset and Château Chêne-Vieux Now Certified HVE Level 3: The highest level of the “High Environmental Value” certification, for farms that maintain biodiversity and have low reliance on inputs (such as pesticides, fertilizers, energy, etc.).

The HVE certification is a label created by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food in 2012. Its requirements are based on:

  • Biodiversity on the farm: promoting a variety of fauna and flora (grass-covered rows, trees, woodlands, flowers, insects, etc.);
  • Limited use of phytosanitary products;
  • Reasoned fertilization management;
  • Preservation of water resources.

The strictly regulated “High Environmental Value Farm” status helps promote a system that is more economical in terms of inputs while contributing to agricultural biodiversity and soil preservation. It represents good practices and a responsible approach, balancing ecology and economy, which we have already embraced at Château de Musset and Château Chêne-Vieux! Indeed, for several years now, we have chosen to commit to sustainable viticulture and offer wines produced with respect for the environment.

The standards met by “High Environmental Value” farms today provide guarantees that consumers are looking for. The goal is to use this certification as a seal of trust for our customers: the products from our farms have minimal environmental impact. By being certified HVE Level 3 (the highest level!), you can be assured that the production of our wines helps maintain biodiversity and soil health. 🙂
